The music of Handel is considered the culmination of the Baroque period of music history, and his Water Music (1717) has endured in popularity for nearly 300 years! Performed from a barge travelling on the River Thames, King George I is said to have liked the music so much that he ordered it repeated several times. Originally three suites each consisting of multiple movements, Johnnie Vinson has skilfully adapted this arrangement for young players using Alla Hornpipe from the Suite in D Major, and the Air and Allegro from the Suite in F Major.Duration: 4:20

£225.00Prelude and Fugue in C Minor (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Williams, Vaughan - Noble, Paul
Written in 1920-21, the Prelude and Fugue in C Minor was published in 1930, appearing both as an orchestral work and as an organ piece. The ritornello-form first movement calls to mind the Prelude and Fugue in C minor, BWV546 of J S Bach. The fugue is in A-B-A form and based on a subject whose pentatonic outline seems like an augury of gentle pastoralism; but both movements display a gritty, truculent brand of counterpoint that anticipates the dissonance and fury of Vaughan Williams's Symphony No 4 in F minor, the composition of which spanned the years 1931-4. (from notes by Relf Clark, 2009). The power and drama of this piece is captured in this faithful arrangement for Concert Band.

The concerto (for horn in F) is in three movements, following the usual pattern of fast, slow, fast. £23.99Die Himmel ruhmen des Ewigen Ehre (SATB Choral Octavo) - Beethoven, Ludwig van - Doss, Thomas
Master-composer Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, in 1770, but he lived in Vienna from 1792, until his death in 1827. With his innovative style, he has had a great influence on Western classical music. 'Die Himmel r?hmen des Ewigen Ehre' (The Heavens Extol the Glory of God) is the first line of the poem 'Die Ehre Gottes in der Natur', which was written by Christian F?rchtegott Gellert (1715-1769). The music that Beethoven composed to the text, was published in 1803, as the fourth Lied (song) in a cycle of six (6 Lieder nach Gedichten von Gellert, opus 48). Thomas Doss has arranged the song - in which nature, as created by God, is mirrored majestically - into a wonderful work for concert band.
