Mneskin is an Italian rock band that first set foot on the international stage in 2021, when it won the 65th Eurovision Song Contest with Zitti e buoni. 2021 was an excellent year for the group in more ways than one, since they were also declared best rock band at the MTV European Music Awards. "Optimist" is one of the most well-known songs by Norwegian singer and composer Jahn Teigen. It was written for the Norwegian Eurovision in 1989. It did not win this competition, but is still one of the greatest Norwegian songs from the late 1980's. This arrangement is very close to the original in form, rhythmic- and melodic lines. The most beautiful thing is one of Jahn Teigens most popular pop ballads. It was written in 1988 together with Rolf Lvland and Ove Borchstein and went straight to the top of the Norwegian hitlists. Even 20 years after its release, in 2008, it reached the hitlists after Teigen performed it during the Eurovision Song Contest. The song is often played on Norwegian radio and was the 70th most played in the period 1993-2013 on the radio channel P4. In 1973 Juan Carlo Caldern wrote Eres Tu for the Spanish Basque pop group Mocedades. Who does not know the famous Te Deum Prelude by Marc-Antoine Charpentier (1634-1704)? This French composer studied both painting and composition in Italy. Returning to France, he took up the post of music master to the dauphin. He collaborated with Molire, working for the Thatre Francais until 1685. He then returned to court and was music director to the Princesse de Guise, composition teacher to the Duke d'Orleans and wrote music for the dauphin's chapel. His Te Deum, of which the Prelude has become well known (particularly in Europe, where it is used as the Eurovision signature tune) is one of many pieces he wrote for important state and religious occasions.
