Close (A Chorale about Love) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Roels, Stijn
Close is a chorale that sings the praises of a universal theme: love. The people who are dear to you are the ones you'd like to keep as close to you as possible, to make sure you can hug them from time to time. This was not always a matter of course during the past COVID period - an absence which many people felt deeply. The desire for the closeness of love is expressed in a beautiful, lyrical melody supported by warm harmonies. After a quiet opening, the music builds up to a grand climax, and it features tender as well as ardent moments. Perfect to dream away, as well as to dwell on the many aspects that belong to love. Anima Negra (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Schwarz, Otto M.
Two boys from Felanitx: Pere Obrador and Miquel Angel Cerda. Having finished school, one stayed in Mallorca, while the other one left to study in Madrid. Some years later, homesickness and a yearning for the sea brought Miquel back. The turning point in their lives came in 1994. They realised their dream and produced their first wine. Their vision was to produce a real Balearic Wine from native grapes such as Callet, Mantonegro and Fogoneu. Anima Negra captures the stunning landscape of Mallorca in a single glass of wine. It reflects the sun, salinity and energy of the island and has conquered the world.Duration: 9.00

A Caribbean Sailing Trip (Flexible Ensemble - Score and Parts) - Schaars, Peter Kleine
With this composition in a rumba style, Peter Kleine Schaars invites us to enjoy a relaxed sailing trip in the waters of the Caribbean. The feeling of freedom on the boat is mirrored by an extensive melody surrounded by a palette of colourful harmonies the shades of the water while the clever percussion sets the course of the ship. Who wouldn't dream of such an adventure? Although the musical themes and accompaniments have been constructed from combinations of rhythmic cells that occur less often, the composition sounds very natural and flowing. Assuming the rhythmic cells 1 to 8 are part of the basic skills of your band, in this composition, the accent rather lies on cells 9 to 13. The instrumentation is created in such a way that these new cells occur in all parts, so that all musicians of the band become familiar with this rhythmic development.Duration: 2.30

Symphony of Freedom (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Doss, Thomas
Symphony No.3. All men are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and are to meet one another in a spirit of brotherhood. This article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights forms the basic idea behind this majestic Symphony of Freedom. In each of the three movements, the composer picks another angle on this universal theme of freedom. In the first movement, Cry for Freedom, it's the Dalai Lama of which the composer is a great admirer. The second movement, Dream of Freedom, takes the photograph of the deceased three-year-old refugee boy Ailan Kurdi on the beach at Bodrum as a basis. The finale, Freedom Above All, refers, besides a Bruckner quote, to the music of Ludwig van Beethoven. This movement should be seen first and foremost as an affirmation of life, faith and hope for a better world.Duration: 25.00

Phantasmagoria (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Bell, Jeremy
Phantasmagoria is described as "a shifting series of phantasms, illusions, or deceptive appearances, as in a dream or as created by the imagination." In this fascinating piece, key centres shift just like the phantasms created by the projections of a magic lantern, creating a sense of wonder with concealed, dark undertones.
