Feel the Spirit is a collection of seven spirituals originally arranged for mezzo-soprano, choir and orchestra, now which have been arranged for mezzo-soprano, choir and Concert Band, and which can be performed by Band alone. All the pieces are familiar spirituals, skillfully and delightfully scored with optional audience participation to 'bring down the house'. The moods go from exuberant Dixieland with optional clarinet and trombone ad lib solos to a somber and dark mood, conjuring up the depth of feelings for which the spirituals are noted. The music is available either as a complete suite of seven pieces, or as individual pieces which may be purchased separately.

Prayer for Asia

The imagery of this musical entreaty tranquilly unfolds with a clarinet exposition that authentically captures the essence of an invocation that is adeptly passed to English Horn and masterfully developed via sectional highlighting, superlative percussion and a climax of elysian dimension. The Pre-Goodman Rag - Malcolm Arnold
Malcolm Arnold's Clarinet Concerto No. 2, Op. 115, was dedicated to Benny Goodman, and first performed by him as part of the Red Rocks Music Festival with the Denver Symphony Orchestra conducted by Brian Priestman on 17 August 1974. The third movement, known affectionately as 'The Pre-Goodman Rag', is an outrageous ragtime parody with a hauntingly wistful middle section. The work has now been made more widely available in this transcription for wind band.

Released as a charity single in aid of The Queen's Commonwealth Trust, this sublime work was composed by Debbie Wiseman OBE and performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II after her death in September 2022. This tender and contemplative piece was played many times during the BBC's live coverage of the ceremonies across ten days of national mourning; and the full three-minute piece was played at the end of the Queen's State funeral, following Kirsty Young's emotional final words, and accompanied by a poignant and beautiful montage of images from the events of the day. The piece is now available for wind bands through this arrangement by Andrew Wainwright, with permission kindly granted by Debbie Wiseman. Written in memory of an outstanding orchestra conductor, the piece begins longingly with the composer's original material, followed by a clarinet solo of the folk song. A series of harmonic progressions builds to a climactic key change and then concludes with the original material reimagined in a more hopeful tone.
