£90.30Black Heat - Henk Alkema
When the heat has become very intensive and invisible, it seems to turn black. This composition is an attempt to turn the apparent contrast heat/blackness into music because Alkema is fond of fire and flames. While walking in the forest he evaluates how combustible the trees are and imagines the wooden houses going up in flames. The wind players can very well suggest fire and flames. By means of this composition Alkema sets fire to the powder and hopes the fire will set everything in a blaze. Finally, he only wanted to write a fine concert piece.

£76.80The Basic Elements - Dick van Heuvel
In this rather simple but extremely well sounding suite in four parts, the Dutch composer Dick van Heuvel has made a musical evocation of the four basic elements of nature, namely earth, air, water and fire. The composition is written for five parts plus percussion, so here we have another fine composition for flexible instrumentation that can be played already by small bands.

The second movement celebrates the entry of Arogno into the Swiss Confederation in 1516. In the third movement you can hear the invasion of the Austrian troops in 1799. The fourth movement describes the complex move of a complete clock factory from the Jura Canton to Arogno in 1873 and the last movement evokes the arrival of the first postal car in 1925.

£87.00Holy Night in the Mountains Silence
Christmas in the Alps enchants people because of the very special atmosphere with a combination of attentive silence and the blue shining moonlight. At Christmas time, one can often hear in the distance a small group of wind players performing some old traditional carols in front of one or other little chapel in the mountains. This Christmas Carol medley by Willi Mrz reminds us of that tradition. He has arranged tunes from ancient Bavarian and Austrian Christmas Carols and shepherd songs. The religious 'Andachtsjodler' is still sung at Christmas time in the churches of Bavaria and Tyrol.
