Eight Chorales for Elementary Band - Quincy C. Hilliard

Considered by many to be one of the country's top music educators, Quincy C. Hilliard has written this set of eight chorales to develop the intonation of your beginning band. These chorales teach much more than lyrical playing by covering the keys of Bb, Eb, and F Major, and time signatures in 4/4, 3/4, and 2/4. Also, all instrumental parts are very easy so you can focus on tone and musicianship. A must for every beginning band library!

Irish Festival - Quincy C. Hilliard

Quincy C. Hilliard uses two Irish folksongs as the inspiration for this new festival work. A drone opens the work which quickly moves to a simple, yet creative setting of The Last Rose of Summer. A slow, lyrical treatment of the same folk song serves as the middle section of the piece. The final section is based on The Rake of Mallow and makes use of ample percussion as the piece propels toward a powerful conclusion.

Fantastic Foster - By Stephen Foster / arr. L. C. Harnsberger

During his short life (1826--1864), Stephen C. Foster wrote over 200 songs, including some that are still extremely popular today. A few of his songs are so well known that many believe they are American folk songs. In this arrangement, three of his most popular songs are arranged for young band. The entire band shares the melody of "Camptown Races," which is followed by a tender setting of "My Old Kentucky Home" featuring the woodwinds and bells. Everything comes to a rousing conclusion with Foster's first big hit, "Oh! Susanna," that lets the entire band shine.
