£89.95Variations on 'Laudate Dominum' (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Gregson, Edward - Wiffin, Rob
The theme is a noble hymn tune by Sir Hubert H. Parry, associated with the words 'O praise ye the Lord'. There are seven contrasting variations that will provide much interest to the player as well as the listener, the seventh of which is a fugato which leads into a triumphant finale where the theme is heard for the first time in its completion. This, we feel, will be a significant work for Wind Band as it has been for the brass band movement.

£159.99Alpine Flowers' Party! (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Sakai, Itaru
The Hida High School is in a highland city called Takayama in Gifu Prefecture. Takayama City has some of the highest mountains in Japan, atmospheric rows of houses and streets, and a beautiful landscape. The magnificent views from these mountains can be described as a paradise above the clouds. When the composer visited there in the summer of 2001, the lovely flowers spreading through the valley and the refreshing air welcomed him. The flowers looked as if they were fashionably dressed and fully enjoying conversation and a short summer at a reunion party. The composer was inspired by this scenery to compose this piece. The musical party opens with happy greetings of a reunion and joyful themes follow one after another. A light xylophone solo, a waltz and an adagio featuring alternate solos by alto saxophone, euphonium and trumpet lead to a brilliant finale featuring brass and percussion played in irregular time. A beautiful musical picture that your band will enjoy performing for many years.Duration: 10:45

£52.95Loch Lomond (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Black, Dave
Here are two contrasting treatments of this beautiful Scottish tune in a unique arrangement for young band. The tune is first presented using the lush harmonies, full textures and interesting inner lines that have become a Dave Black trademark. The second treatment is an enchanting dance-like march in 6/8 time that starts with a snare drum introduction, followed by open fifths in the low brass. The tune is developed with the addition of a woodwind countermelody before a final statement of the tune brings the piece to a close. Great for working on phrasing, balance and dynamics. And every section gets their share of the melodic action!Duration: 2.30

£159.99Concerto for Trumpet No.1 'Trumpet Town' (Concert Band - Score and Parts)
A rapid flourish in 12/8 time opens composer Otto M. Schwarz' first Concerto for trumpet Trumpet Town, written in October 2009. The metric changes that follow affect the pulse rhythmically and melodically, in exciting and unexpected ways. The solo trumpet's displays of technical prowess and bravura alternate with the film-score-like tutti sections of the brass ensemble. The slow, almost elegiac, central section can be performed on the flugelhorn, while the closing reprise demands that both the soloist and the orchestra give of their best as the piece comes to an exciting, colourful, and uplifting finale. Soloist: Difficulty 5This piece is also available for trumpet and piano. 10:15

£189.95Paganini Variations (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Wilby, Philip - McBride, M. Scott
This Wind Band orchestration of Wilby's Paganini Variations attempts to capture the range of colour and expression of the original. There are opportunities abound for every member of the wind orchestra to play a convincing role in the drama. The intention of the Brass Band work was to use more of Paganini than his time honoured melody (from his twenty-fourth Caprice with a set of fourteen variations), but would also attempt to recreate in modern terms something of the wild and romantic spirit of the times.

£112.95Four Irish Dances (Prestige Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Arnold, Malcolm - Rogers, Ron
Malcolm Arnold's Four Irish Dances are from the latter stage of his career. The 1986 piece complements his other regional dance suites for orchestra, including Cornish, English and Scottish dances, though it darker in mood and colour. Stomping brass and drums in the opening Allegro con Energico give way to two spare middle movements: a Comodo made from anguished melodic imitation and a lilting Piacevole with eerie solo piccolo and miniature trio for trumpets. The 11 minute piece concludes with a wild, contrapuntal jig in triple time. The original orchestra version of the work was premiered at the Leeds Castle Festival on 10 October 1987, by the Wren Orchestra conducted by the composer.
