£60.00Music for a Noble Gathering
Capturing the pomp and dignity of a regal celebration, this composition opens with a percussion flourish and band fanfare. A legato, lyrical section offers a contrast in tempo, key and style. This work is a study in phrase shaping, the development of long tones, balance of melody and countermelody, and key signature recognition. Perfect for graduations and ceremonies or as a fanfare-type concert opener or closer.

£87.95A Tamworth Tapestry (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Wiffin, Rob
A Tamworth Tapestry was commissioned by the Tamworth Wind Band who gave the first performance in Fazeley, Tamworth, on 27 Apr 2024. In composing it I drew on aspects of Tamworth starting with a short malicious outburst to depict the warlike history of the town's Norman castle. From there the music moves into a slow-flowing minor key movement entitled River Tame. The Celtic derivation of the word Tame means dark and slow-moving. The suite ends with a saltarello - Tomsaete. The Tomsaete were an Anglo-Saxon tribe who lived in the valley of the River Tame and remained around Tamworth throughout the duration of the Kingdom of Mercia. There is also a play on words with the band's conductor - Tom Sears. I combined the saltarello with some allusions to various other Tamworth references including Kingsbury Water Park, Drayton Manor Theme Park, Tamworth Pigs and even a reference to the Robin Reliant!Duration: 6.15

£66.95Moorside March (from A Moorside Suite) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Holst, Gustav - Wagner, Douglas E.
A Moorside Suite was written in 1928 as a test piece for the National Brass Band Festival championship competition held that year. The three-movement work includes a jaunty "Scherzo," a lovely "Nocturne," and the popular "March," which has enjoyed countless performances since its premiere. Douglas E. Wagner created this arrangement with younger players in mind. Though slightly abridged, the main themes and styles are present in a carefully-crafted performance piece accessible to concert bands at this level. This authentic arrangement still bears Holst's unmistakable musical signature.Duration: 3.30

A Little Bit Bossa is, as the title says, a simple bossa nova with its light and characteristic rhythm. Bossa nova is a Brazilian music genre. It is related to samba and has a strong influence from jazz. The genre attracted many famous artists and became widespread through singers and musicians such as Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto. Today we find a number of bossa nova songs in jazz's standard repertoire. The parts in this piece are written in a way so that also the youngest and least-experienced musicians can play this piece well.Duration: 1.30

£72.99Close (A Chorale about Love) (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Roels, Stijn
Close is a chorale that sings the praises of a universal theme: love. The people who are dear to you are the ones you'd like to keep as close to you as possible, to make sure you can hug them from time to time. This was not always a matter of course during the past COVID period - an absence which many people felt deeply. The desire for the closeness of love is expressed in a beautiful, lyrical melody supported by warm harmonies. After a quiet opening, the music builds up to a grand climax, and it features tender as well as ardent moments. Perfect to dream away, as well as to dwell on the many aspects that belong to love. £47.50Hymn for a Hero (Flexible Ensemble - Score and Parts) - Appermont, Bert
This composition was inspired by the life of the German cavalry general Hans Michael Elias von Obentraut (1574-1625). The heroism of the illustrious general is expressed in a majestic hymn. Hymn for a Hero can serve as a separate work but, if desired, it can also be integrated in the four-movement composition A Hero's Tale. Concretely, this means that this flex version, following the opening fanfare, can be played along with the first movement (bars 9-52). Thus, a youth or beginner band can make music and perform together with a band of adults or advanced players.Duration: 2.45

£139.99Heartbeat of a City (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Schwarz, Otto M.
A city is founded, it has a heart that beats. But visible achievements such as buildings and infrastructure merely bear witness to what its true heart is made of, the people who have lived, and still live, in the city. The pulse of the city, brought to life by its heartbeat, changes over time. Who hasn't seen those time-lapse images showing twinkling lines of car lights as people make their way to work, while others stand at traffic lights, only moving as if at the push of a button? These are like life flowing in the veins, driven by a strong heart. Leonardo da Vinci had already imagined the rivers as the blood vessels of the Earth. In any city, though, it's not the rivers but the movement and activities of the people who live there. The heart doesn't always beat steadily, however, but its rhythm can be influenced by joy, fear, and many other things. Every city has its own pulse. This is also true of the university city of Marburg, where people from over 100 nations now live together in a cosmopolitan and tolerant community. This work describes the city from its founding in 1222, and the charity of Saint Elizabeth, all the way to the present day.Duration: 9.15
