Lord of the Lake is a work in three separate movements which tells the legend of the "Sea of Flines". Stphane Coquet, the conductor of the Flines-lez-Rches concert band, wanted to celebrate the 140th anniversary of his band by commissioning this work. The piece can be performed either on its own, or with a narrator who intervenes between each movement, telling this legend where children and their parents thwart the cruelty of a lord holed up in his castle.

The Ecstasy of Gold is the famous theme from the movie The Good, The Bad and The Ugly that leads up to and is heard during the movie's climax, the showdown! The complete soundtrack to The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was released in 1966 and sold millions of copies. Since 1983, heavy-metal band Metallica have been opening concerts with Morricone's dramatic and exciting song, The Ecstasy of Gold. This work for concert band marks the 25th anniversary of the Euroregion. In this varied composition, Thomas Doss has used three local folk songs as a symbol of the individual regions: La Montanara (Trentino), Wohl ist die Welt so gro und weit (South Tyrol) and Das Schnste auf der Welt (Tyrol).
