£274.99Stone Age (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Doss, Thomas
Stone Age, Middle Age and New Age are the three distinct sections of this single movement work at the highest level. Whilst Stone Age has a menacing and ancient atmosphere, an old German song can be made out in Middle Age - vocals, guitar, recorder or even bagpipes can be incorporated into the melody, which gradually gives up merry Celtic dances. In New Age, the 'present', the Celtic sounds finally connect with untamed, rousing dance rhythms.Duration: 18:30

£65.00The Ringing Isle (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Dove, Jonathan - Littlemore, Phillip
Handel called Britain 'the ringing isle' because when he moved to London, he heard bells ringing everywhere: great bells in church towers, and handbells in some of the first private houses he visited. The sound of people 'ringing the changes' is a peculiarly British sound of celebration, and it seems a good starting point for a piece celebrating British musical life. Within The Ringing Isle, Dove incorporates some traditional change-ringing patterns, from 'Grandsire Doubles', 'Oxford Treble Bob Minor' and his own version of 'Plain Bob Major'. Handel's phrase also conjures up an image of a magical island, and so this is how Dove envisaged how it must have been to approach Britain from an ocean voyage.

£69.99Viva Excelsior (Concert Band - Score and Parts)
Wim Laseroms composed Viva Excelsior on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of music society Excelsior in Losser (the Netherlands). After a powerful tutti entry, the percussion section bridges the period up to the first reprise. This festive march is then followed by a playful melodic theme in which the semi-quavers prevail, accompanied by a beautiful legato countermelody in the horns and euphoniums. During the second reprise a marcato bass solo and a technically sparkling and dynamic contrasting phase alternate. The trio features a new theme - starting from the chalumeau register and leading to an exuberant repeat in the brass with ornamentations by the high wood players. 04:40

£19.95WARCRYE OF ELFEGEN (Prestige Concert Band Extra Score) - Lawrence, Geoffrey
Extra Score. The piece depicts scenes from the mythological kingdom of Elfegen, the North European home of a ferocious race of warriors. From the tranquillity of the opening, where first can be heard the eerie 'warcrye', things move quickly on; figures are scurrying up and down the hills moving into battle positions. The intensity increases constantly and soon a fierce battle rages. In time, the fighting subsides and a period of reflective calm replaces the chaos that has gone before. During the lull in battle a lone voice is heard, as if trying to appeal for peace, for people to resolve their differences and see sense. The voice is, however, ignored and the conflict sparks off once more. The ruthless Elfegen warriors are not content until the victory is complete, a very loud, and triumphant climax is heard as another battle reaches its inevitable conclusion. (Grade 5) Performance time 6'38' (Recorded on QPRM133D FESTIVAL OF MUSIC 1999, Massed Bands of the Royal Air Force)

£294.99Concerto for Horn and Band - Bert Appermont
Concerto for Horn and Band was written on commission from the horn player Miguel Martinez Megias and the symphonic concert band La Armnica from Buol, Spain. This four-movement work, written to fully explore the capabilities of the hornas a solo voice, is comprised of a dramatic Sarabande, a highly virtuoso Toccata, a wonderful Romance and a Finale that reworks the second movement in a kind of fugue and brings the work to a spectacular close. The basicbuilding block of this concerto, quite fittingly, is the fifth: you only have to think of the post horn or a hunting theme, which conjures up the sound of the perfect fifth. Wonderful new repertoire for a wonderful instrument.
