Call of the Aboriginals - Uluru - Kata Tjuta was commissioned by Nara Municipal Ichijo Senior High School Symphonic Band, Nara City, Nara Prefecture, Japan, to commemorate their 60th anniversary. Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is an immense monolith rising in the vastness of the Australian outback. Famously also known as Ayers Rock, it is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It is a sacred site for the Aboriginal people of the area, the Pitjantjatjara Anangu, but has also become a popular tourist destination, creating cultural and environmental conflicts. This work, which is written in a style typical of the composer, tells a dramatic tale adventure inspired by the life of the indigenous people and the magnificent scenery of Uluru. This work is suited for contests as well as thematic concerts. Duration: 7.45

This piece was composed in 2009 for a commission by Shinjuku Bunka Center to commemorate its thirty years since its opening.It is an impressive work with a brilliant, bright fanfare, and the stately sound of the church organ reverberating through the concert hall. The first performance was given by Hiroko Takahashi, a house organist of the centre, with Shinjuku City Wind Orchestra conducted by Shigeto Ishizu. Original works for church organ and wind orchestra are surprisingly scarce. This is a fresh opening piece, to be followed by an organ solo which might lead to a march.Duration: 5.00

This piece was commissioned by Oyama City Symphonic Wind Orchestra to commemorate their 30th Anniversary. The composer was inspired by Oyama City's slogan, 'water, green and earth', to write this festive fanfare. Following a gentle opening a fanfare leads to a magnificent chorale. This turns into a quickly moving energetic section with irregular rhythm. This is a short but dramatic piece that will make a brilliant concert opener.Duration: 2:45

Zelkova is a symbolic tree of Sendai City, home town of the commissioning wind band "The Tohoku Fukushi University Wind Ensemble". This composition is dedicated to the band's conductor Taiken Matsuzakiand and the music reflects his generous personality.
