£91.20Du und Du - Johann Strauss
Strausss Waltz Du und Du (You and You), published around the end of 1874, is based on motives from the operetta Die Fledermaus (The BaT) and named after one of its melodies, the famous chorus of Act II. The introduction, in triple meter(3/4), never modulates away from its basic key, F major. Du und Du contains 3 waltzes, each of them in the traditional structure ABA. After the third and last waltz, the piece concludes with a coda that elaborates fragments from the previouswaltzes.

£59.30Jazz Band - L. Sasdelli
We have included this famous piece, transcribed by Didier Ortolan for clarinet and band, as a tribute to Hengel Gualdi, who died in 2005. Born in 1924, in Correggio (Reggio Emilia), he was one of Italy's most important jazz musicians. He was held in high esteem in America, where he worked with some of the greatest musicians (Count Basie, Gerry Mulligan etc.) and played with Louis Armstrong and Lionel Hampton. In Italy he worked with Pupi Avati on his soundtracks.

£84.99Scherzpolka - Thomas Doss
In the somewhat sarcastic Scherzpolka (Joke Polka), the composer does not intend to make fun of Alpine traditions and music but rather of the typical social attitude that does not always do justice to the valuable folk music and culture. Imagine a band that has to play in a beer tent for hours. During the performance the guests treat the musicians to one beer after another. Gradually, the players and the conductor lose control over their instruments and their interpretation of the music. Finally, the performance comes to an end: the Scherzpolka is actually the last piece. There are no limits to the creativity in both the visual and musical aspects during a performance of theScherzpolka!

£64.99Happy Summer Song - Graydon A. Toms
This lighthearted piece is ideal for the Grade 1 band. Repeated notes in a sequential melody, simple counterpoint between the Woodwinds and Trumpets, interesting use of common Auxiliary Percussion instruments, a limited palette of rhythms and easy Low Brass/ Low Woodwind parts all combine so that you can program HAPPY SUMMER SONG with confidence. Whether you have a full complement of players or your instrumentation is a little "sketchy"; whether you have plenty of rehearsal time or that precious commodity is a bit rare, you can count on having this one ready in time for the show.

£168.50Harlequin - Philip Sparke
Harlequin was commissioned by, and is dedicated to, euphonium virtuoso David Childs. The piece takes as its inspiration the happy and sad masks which symbolise the Commedia dell?Arte (which features Harlequin as one of its main characters) and comprises two movements, a slow modal ballad followed by a frenetic faster movement. A fantastic showpiece for euphonium and band.

£104.99Dance of the Knights from Romeo and Juliet - Sergei Prokofiev
This publication marks the first-ever symphonic wind band edition of the Dance of the Knights, from Scene 2 Capulet's Ball of Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet. [The ballet] led to one of the most beloved dance works in the repertory and a series of famous orchestral suites... but the celebrated legacy of Romeo and Juliet belies its tortured history: It left Prokofiev broken and emerged from a period that left many of his colleages dead. (New York Times). Nathan Jones' scoring for symphonic wind band faithfully captures the magic of the original orchestraion of this famous work, which has been heard in numerous films and TV shows, including The Simpsons, Warm Machine, Good Morning Britain and Gotham, among many others. This piece is an ideal opener or closer for intermediate to advanced band.

£89.95Seven Summits - Amy Webb
The Seven Summits are the highest mountains of each of the seven continents. Using the concept of the summits, this piece explores the rush of adrenaline, the pounding of the heart, and the sheer joy of being one with nature. The middle slower section represents the pitfalls and difficulties of climbing the mountains, demonstrated by the several accidentals and mature chordal progressions. Finally, the end brings the climber's triumphant return to base camp! 1st trumpet's highest note is G.

£75.50Essence of Memory - BJ Brooks
In the fall of 2021, as occurs countless times across the United States, band director Darin Johns was traveling with his marching band to a Friday night football game. Tragically, a wrong-way driver struck the Andrews Band bus, taking the lives of both Darin and the bus driver. Over the next few months, tributes to Darin came in waves, culminating in a 1,000-member parade with 30 different bands at Christmastime. The Association of Texas Small-School Bands, of which Darin and the Andrews Band were a part, commissioned me to write a piece in honor of Mr. Johns. The music reflects the waves of memory that one experiences when contemplating the deepest of thoughts. First nebulous, sometimes sharply focused, resonating motifs, highs and lows. The four-chord chaconne figure is the unifying core of the work. It grounds the various melodies as they enter and return, sometimes densely paired, sometimes transparently isolated. The themes are structured as an arch form ABCBA, but as they recur, they are added together, giving them more density, as if the memories overlap, before the calmness, first heard as an ethereal haze, recurs.

£139.99Singapura Suite - Jan Van der Roost
Singapura Suite was commissioned by Singapore's Ministry of Education Extracurricular Activities Branch to serve as a compulsory piece for the 1999 Singapore Youth Festival."Singapura" is the original name of Singapore in Malay, the native language there. Because Singapore is one of the most important harbors in the world, this two-piece work opens with a seaman's dance. An authentic melody, Chan Mali Chan, is woven into the middle of this first part, whose ABA form becomes clear through the recapitulation of the seaman's dance in a somewhat altered form.Singapore is also a dynamic city-state alive with excitement, thus the second part begins with a fitting dance, a fastbourre. As contrast there is a second authentic melody, Dayung Sampan, a more easygoing sailing song. This short but curious suite ends in high spirits with a recapitulation of the beginning.
