Call of Heroes is an opening piece not only suited for concerts but for all festive occasions. The first part begins with a fanfare in the brass supported by woodwind motifs. In the second section the theme is first introduced by the euphonium and horn which transitions into the full orchestra taking it over. The piece ends majestically with a repeat of the opening fanfare.

The Lady Caliph is Ennio Morricone's main theme of the 70's Italian drama film La Califfa directed by Alberto Bevilacqua, entered into the 1971 Cannes Film Festival. After Andrew Pearce arranged and transcribed this beautiful theme for cello & chamber orchestra for the film 'If I were you' (2012), it seemed a perfect choice for expressive euphonium solo and Band.

"By the Fjord" is written by the Norwegian composer Kjetil Bjrnstad and is the most famous song from the musical work "Leve Patagonia" which was published in 1978. The work is written as a modern suite about the Oslo Bohemians Hans Jaeger and OdaLasson sitting in a pram on the fjord a summer night. Odas sister sees the couple on the sea from her window and tells us the story.Kjetil Bjrnstad wrote "By the Fjord" in his house outside Tvedestrand early spring 1978. He was initially notfully satisfied and considered disposing it. The beautiful music has luckily made the song a classic in Norwegian music.To the conductorThis arrangement can be used with both vocal andinstrumental soloist. Its always a challenge toarrange songs with many verses that tells a story if it is to be played by an instrumental soloist instead of a singer. VIEW SCORE PDF A Coventry Rhapsody is based on The Coventry Carol, which dates back to the 16th century and is one of three songs from a nativity play entitled Pageant of the Shearman and Tailors which was traditionally performed in Coventry. The carol itself depicts the Massacre of the Innocents in the nativity narrative from the Gospel of Matthew, in which King Herod, orders the execution of all baby boys under the age of two in the vicinity of Bethlehem. Snippets of the carol can be heard throughout the work in different guises. It is not until the final section that we hear the carol in all its glory.
