The variation form is one of the oldest and most fundamental forms of musical technique. Franco Cesarini has chosen the well known French folk melody, Sur le pont d'Avignon as the basis for this piece. The piece begins with a short introduction followed by the exposition and ten lively and contrasting variations. The final reminder of the main theme also included references to the famous French nursery songs J'ai du bon tabac and Alouette, which bring the work to an expressive and brilliant close.Duration7:00

£60.99X-mas for Three Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)
David Well composed 'X-mas for Three' for three young pupils of his, who wished to give a Christmas concert. He arranged six well-known Christmas songs for them, and their first performance was a great success. This was reason for the composer to adapt the piece for 'orchestra' by adding percussion. The title has stayed the same, and the work can still be played by as few as three musicians, but as the saying goes: "The more, the merrier"! 'X-mas for Three' consists of the following parts : 1. Oh du fr?hliche 2. Kling, Gl?ckchen, kling 3. Gloria in excelsis deo 4. Joy to the world! 5. The first Noel 6. We wish you a Merry Christmas 03:45
