Flashback (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - De Haan, Jan
A flashback is an interesting psychological phenomenon: a seemingly random trigger can bring back long-forgotten memories from the subconscious mind. The composer underwent a similar experience before writing this piece. He was asked to write a piece for The National Youth Fanfare Band in the Netherlands, one which he heard perform many years ago. All of a sudden he remembered Deep Harmony, a piece frequently programmed back then. He used his own flashback-experience as an inspiration to weave an old English hymn into his new composition, much like a musical flashback. The right idea at the right moment, as this piece will prove!Duration: 11:00

Bliss (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - De Haan, Jacob
Bliss: Impressions of a Village contains three impressions of a village in the beautiful Brabant province in the Netherlands. The first movement is in a very 'classical style' and, appropriately, captures the village's history. Saxophones and a glockenspiel follow the path of a small, playful river. The entire band join in as the small river approaches an ancient castle. The third movement contains lots of interesting rhythms portraying the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the village.Duration: 6:45

Cityscapes (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - De Haan, Jan
For Cityscapes, the composer used the metropolis of New York, the largest city of the United States, as a source of inspiration. The first movement mirrors the skyline of the 'Big Apple'. In movement two, Central Park is introduced and in the closing movement of this triptych, the ever-sparkling Manhattan, known for its many skyscrapers, and its financial centre Wall Street, is the focal point. Not only are the busy city traffic and the chaotic hustle and bustle expressed in the music, but also the impressive buildings, including the famous Empire State Building. Let the magic of New York shine with this dramatic new item for concert band.Duration: 8:45

Eventide (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - De Haan, Jacob
Eventide (Song of Liberation) has as its theme the European liberation from the Second World War. After a solemn introduction, one hears the melody of the hymn Abide with Me, which was sung frequently during the war. Variations on the theme follow, finally leading to the magisterial conclusion that represents the ultimate liberation. Bring a bit of nostalgic history to life with this stirring composition.

Kraftwerk (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - De Haan, Jacob
The theme of this work is the history of the town of Grafenrheinfeld (Bavaria, Germany) in the twentieth century, a town that is now mainly associated with its nuclear plant. The German word for this is Kraftwerk, which can be divided into the words Kraft (power) and Werk (work). In this composition, it is a metaphor for the 'work' that can be realised through 'power' in a negative way (war) and in a positive way (reconstruction). Musically speaking, power also plays an important role in this work, as opposed to vulnerability, the sense of loss and the insecurity about the lost identity. Based on the text of Lied der Franke 'Kraftwerk' is a powerfully descriptive work that will add energy to any concert.Duration: 8:30
