Here is a terrific march for young players written in the traditional British style. The opening strains are folk-like in nature with underlying modal harmonies, while the stately trio is reminiscent of the processional style of Elgar and other British composers. The "New Forest" refers to a region in southern England established as a royal hunting preserve by William the Conqueror around the year 1079, which has remained largely unchanged since ancient times. £104.99Dream Cruise - Satoshi Yagisawa
Satoshi Yagisawa has lived in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture in Japan since he was in elementary school. Around Christmas time every year in Ichikawa City, seven Chiba high school bands hold a joint concert. For the 20th anniversary the composer was asked to write a piece to be performed to close the concert. This piece was first performed in 2010 by Tadashi Yoshida, conductor and close friend of Satoshi Yagisawa, with a combined wind orchestra from Chiba Prefectural Kokubun High School, Chiba Prefectural Ichikawa Nishi High School, Chiba Prefectural Matsudo Mutsumi High School, Chiba Prefectural Matsudo Akiyama High School, Chiba Prefectural Matsudo Yakiri High School,Chiba Prefectural Funabashi Nishi High School and Chiba Prefectural Shiroi High School. The title was chosen from suggestions submitted by participating students. Dream Cruise was chosen by Satomi Otsu, a junior in Chiba Prefectural Matsudo Mutsumi High School Wind Orchestra. The composer skillfully scored this piece and created the chorus part so that all the hundreds of students could participate in the performance. This version has been revised so it can be played without the chorus part.

This evocative work is a wind band version of the composer's mass for choir and string orchestra entitled Sunrise. The piece is built around a five-note chorale theme, and the opening section features an overlapping fade-in/fade-out effect meant to give a sense of floating in space, as if surrounded by stars and planets. A stunning composition from an exciting new voice in the band world - Ola Gjeilo. He earned a living as a conductor and wrote several ballets and operettas. In his last years, Monti died in 1922, he devoted himself to teaching and composing. His famous "Czardas" has made his name known even today. Initially the czardas was a Hungarian folk dance , but after the mid-nineteenth century it was even a dance for the upper-class. Czardas begins with a slow introduction, the Lassan (slow and sad), and then the fast part, Friska, follows. Czardas is not, as somany people think typical gypsy music.
