This piece requires a smaller woodwind-brass ensemble without percussion. Penderecki composed the Fanfare for a parish fair in Poland. This short effective piece will be a pleasure to rehearse and perform by any wind orchestra. A special role is assigned to the trumpet 'nella sala' which attracts attention away from the ensemble. The wide dynamic range demands from the conductor the careful arrangement of the dramatic structure. Like many of those traditions, Nne na Tatu is driven by relentless percussion and rhythmic-focused development. A bold, festive theme, introduced in the brass, recurs throughout and grounds the piece amidst a series of unpredictable detours - a Scottish-inspired dance in the winds, a marimba melody reminiscent of the music of the Andes - before returning in a final triumphant fanfare.

Another fact represented by this number is that this overture makes the two thousandth work published by MOLENAARS MUZIEKCENTRALE since its foundation in 1933. This work was commissioned by two fanfare bands from Loksbergen and Kortenaken in Belgium, that have merged to form one single ensemble. This festive work has been constructed using two contrasting elements: a rhythmic, fast theme full of character, combined with a melodic, sensitive and slow theme. The title refers to the enthusiastic, fiery character of the opening passage, the fast section, and the renewed passion and drive that has been created due to the merging of the two bands.

This powerful opening tune by the American composer Alfred reed was commissioned by the Rissho Kosei-kai Organization. The music is based on two contrasting groups of motifs.The first group consists of a number of fanfare-like figures that immediately suggest the festive character of the piece. The second group consists of the development of a long melodic line at times interrupted by the fanfare motifs of the first group. As the figures from both groups get more interwoven, the composition returns to the impressive character of the opening and gets more powerful towards the mighty conclusion.
