Marcia A Montecelio (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Naumann, Siegfried

Monticello is the name of a little place northeast of Rome where my wife and I have rented a simple home for more than 20 years. We participated intensively in the cultural life of the community where there was also a little band, the Banda Municipale Cornicolana, which consisted of about 55 wind players, mostly youngsters. One day, the "Il Direttore" came to me and asked if I would like to write a march for them, which I naturally did. It became the Marcia a Montecelio. After 14 rehearsals, with everyone tired, perspiring and red in the face, we were forced to give up. The march was too difficult for them. I then wrote another, easier march for them to perform at the forthcoming feast of San Michaeli. The Montecelio march was composed on pure inspiration in just two days. It is written in the Italian style - with a pinch of Sousa.

Marcia Romantica (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

Marcia Romantica is a traditional march from Wim Laseroms. Following a distinctive introduction, a melodic theme in the woodwind and high brass is played alongside a beautiful countermelody in the reprise. Extra Score. Barrie Hingley, a former Principal Director of Music of the Royal Air Force, has written a stunning march in the true British tradition. It was commissioned to commemorate the endeavours of those who served in World War II in what was to become the Maritime Branch of the Royal Air Force. The title is taken from their motto Praedam Mari Quaero .... We seek our prey in the waters. (Grade 4) Performance time 6'24"

Maria Durch ein' Dornwald Ging (Blest Mary Wanders Through the Thorn) is a traditional German Christmas song. The earliest known version is recorded in the Andernacher Gesangbuch from 1608. Halfway through the nineteenth century it was a regional pilgrimage song in Thuringen, and at the beginning of the twentieth century, the current version was registered in the songbook Zupfgeigenhansl of the German youth movement. Michael Bilkes used the well-known melody to create this attractive arrangement for concert band.Duration: 3:15

Maritime March (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - O'Reilly, John

Maritime March is a jaunty British-style march opening up in the key of C natural minor (Aeolian mode). Sixteenth notes combined with simple syncopations highlight the second strain in a question-and-answer section that pits the woodwinds against the brass. The traditional trio moves to the key of E-flat and features the low clarinets in unison with the French horns.
