Hereditas was commissioned by the Norwegian school band, Lilleaker Skoles Musikkorps for their 110th anniversary in 2019. The piece begins with a fanfare to celebrate the band. The theme continues and develops into different rhythmic patters inspired by the name of the band. Hereditas is the latin word for inheritance/heritage, which is central for the Norwegian school band who's been active since 1909. Duration: 7.45

Heritage Suite (What Hope Saw) is dedicated to and written for John Hutchins and the members of Eynsford Concert Band. The work is inspired by the bronze scuplture by Sarah Cunnington entitled 'Hope'. The sculpture is of a woman running with a dover perched on her hand. The woman's cloak billows out behind her and contains eight panels describing the tow of West Malling's history. Hertiage Suite is a six-movement work that focuses on all eight subjects. To give the Suite a send of unity, musical ideams from previous movements re-appear in unexpected placed implyin g that history often repeats itself. A number of familiar pieces of music are also hinted at. The movements are: Bric-a-brac Market; Prayers & Plagues; Conucopia; Hop Picker's Round; Warm Beer and Cricket' Wyatt's Rebellion & Hope.

Hermes (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Hirose, Hayato

In Greek mythology Hermes was the messenger of the gods, and the god of merchants. The piece starts with a powerful four-measure introduction, followed by the solemn 1st theme and the heroic 2nd theme. After the gentle trio section, the music increases in tension with several key changes, and a dynamic grand finale concludes the piece. This is a spirited concert march with positive musical energy throughout the piece.Duration: 3:15
