Grand Ledge Overture (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Moss, John

John Moss uses a marvelous array of tonal colors and textures in this exciting concert overture. The music is marked "with spirit and determination" and from the opening sounds this piece captures your attention and takes you through a musical journey of power and beauty. The middle slow section features a flowing chorale and a dignified theme played by the low voices before returning to the energetic fast theme. Rich in musical variety throughout, this is an outstanding composition to develop your band's overall musicianship.

Grand March (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Konagaya, Soichi

Grand March was composed in 1995 for the All Shizuoka Youth Band of Japan. The piece opens with a majestic fanfare. A superb-sounding march, with a commanding character, follows. Every now and again I feel the impulse to return to my ceremonial background from my time in the RAF. Grandeur and Glory is one of those pieces that suits those occasions when pomp and circumstance is required. It starts and ends with a slow-building fanfare in the style of Handel's Zadok the Priest.
