Sea Glass (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Kirby, Rick

Worn by the waves and recycled by the ocean, sea glass is a product of both nature and man. Bottles and jars carelessly discarded are tumbled by sea and sand, magically creating colourful and smoothly polished gems. This lovely descriptive work uses shimmering effects in piano and percussion combined with beautiful melodies and lush harmonies. With effective emotional peaks and a nice variety in textures, this is a rewarding work for band.Duration: 3:45

Sea of Clouds (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - Buckley, Robert

3rd Movement of The Seas of the Moon. The third movement of Robert Buckley's grandly cinematic suite describing impressions of the "seas" of the moon, Sea of Clouds was inspired by a series of paintings done by Claude Monet in the London fog. Monet captured the gradations of light as it was affected by fog with ghostly images sifting through. This movement is mostly subdued and dreamlike, the music ebbing and flowing and eventually building to a vast wall of sound and then dissolving into silence. Duration: 5:00

Sea of Hope (Concert Band - Score and Parts) - De Haan, Jacob

Sea of Hope is an optimistic work about new land arisen from the former Zuiderzee (the Netherlands). In the introduction, the sea is conveyed in all its glory and ferocity, through a melody that keeps you wondering whether it makes you happy or sad. Then, finally, there is a glimmer of hope, when the water is dammed up and the land partly reclaimed (by conversion into polder land). The town of Dronten, for instance, develops into a place where one day two people meet up and fall in love. This love is reflected in the slow, passionate middle movement. New life in the town is celebrated joyfully: the zest for life clearly shines through this part of the work, followed by optimism and celebration in the closing bars.Duration: 8.30

The Sea of Tranquility is probably the best-known of these thanks to the landing of Apollo 11 in 1969.
