Cyclist in Moscow - Jan de Haan

Cyclist in Moscow was written to introduce beginner players to ensemble playing as early as possible. Thanks to the low grade of difficulty of this piece this it is possible to play in a 'real band' after only a few lessons. Because of the four-part instrumentation, Cyclist in Moscow is suitable for smaller strengths, taking into account that it is important to divide parts evenly among the players. Also includes an ad-lib keyboard/piano part to support the ensemble.

Cyclone - Michael Oare

The power and intensity of our ever-changing marine environment is portrayed in this descriptive work for young players. Incorporating a simple melodic motif along with syncopated rhythmic energy, Michael Oare effectively depictsthe power of natures most violent storms. Opening with a calm, yet foreboding introduction, the work quickly transforms as the storm draws near. Programmatic music at its best, this work has a fast pace that will keep everyone on their toes. Masterfully conceived and written, this piece is very reminiscent of the Shostakovitch classics that are revered in all band and orchestral libraries. Dramatic and exciting!

Cyprian Suite - Carol Barnett

Cyprian Suite" is a spirited journey through varied musical moods, with each of four movements based on a different Cypriot folk song. The opening Servikos" a playful and rhythmic dance in Serbian style. A tender lullaby, Aya Marina", is followed by the good-natured Exomolghisis", a setting of a humorous song about a confession. The concluding Agapis Tin", a song of unrequited love, begins pensively and builds to a dramatic conclusion.

Cyrano - Piet Swerts

This delightful new composition takes its inspiration from the classic French swash buckling tale of Cyrano de Bergerac and his fight to win the love of the beautiful maiden Roxane. The subject was a perfect departure point for composing a symphonic poem with a variety of musical aspects reflecting the story. Lyricism (the theme of Roxane), dramatic episodes, as well as Debussy-inspired impressionist moments are some of the elements that give the band and its conductor the chance to expose themselves as a versatile ensemble being able to create colour, to sing and to play like virtuosi. This work is sure to become a standard item in the concert band repertoire.
