Weeping and screaming, she searched for her losthusband Odur. Power and justice are the main ideas portrayed by Kevin Houben in this lyrical concert work.

Intensely descriptive from the very first note, Cry of the Last Unicorn portrays a fateful encounter of hunters tracking the last Unicorn. The music is at times poignant and other times dramatic and exciting asthe chase is depicted. Sweeping themes and rich scoring help to make this a memorable work for the symphonic stage. Crystal Magic - Bert Appermont

The source of inspiration for this work is the magical world of gemstones. The special powers of four of these stones appealed to composer Bert Appermonts' imagination. In this work, different distinguishing atmospheres are evoked. The work is composed as a suite containing four movements: Carnelian: The Stone of Perseverance, Opal: The Stone of Misfortune, Amethyst: The Stone of Wisdom and Amazonite: The Stone of Playfulness. This is a challenging and striking piece of music to inspire your audience in a concert or a jury during a contest.

Crystal Waves - Stef Minnebo

During the first half of the sixties the world was under the spell of Californian surf music. Groups such as the Beach Boys, Dick Dale and his Del- Tones, The Surfaris and The Challengers dominated the international charts. The summery and happy style was very catchy, and as it turned out had a great influence on early rock music. Crystal Waves is an ode to this surf music and utilises its characteristic melodies, chords and rhythms to form a catchy piece for concert band.
