Bagatelles for Band - Vincent Persichetti

Since its premiere on May 21, 1961 by the Dartmouth College Band (composer conducting), Bagetelles for Band has become a fixture on state contest and festival repertoire lists. We are pleased to produce a new printing, now including the condensed score as well as a standard 9" x 12" full score. Additionally, a large (11" x 14") conductor score is now available.

Bahn frei - Eduard Strauss

Eduard Strauss, the third son of Johann Strauss the Elder, was born on March 15, 1835, in Vienna. Originally, Eduard looked for employment in the diplomatic service, but he also studied music theory. He became a harpist in the Strauss orchestra in 1855. In 1862, he joined his two famous brothers Johann Jr. and Josef as a conductor of the family orchestra. Like that of his two brothers, his musical output was prolific: he wrote over 320 separate dances and marches. Apart from the exuberant Bahn Frei (Track Clear), which he wrote in 1869, and a handful of other fast polkas (he excelled in this particular dance form), his music is not as well known as that of his brothers.

Bahumba - Peter Sciaino

"Bahumba" is a nonsense word but a no-nonsense selection for concert band. The word stems from a sound composer Peter Sciaino heard coming from an idling car. The engine, clearly having issues, had an "uneven" gate or pulse. He mindlessly heard the word "Bahumba" within the sounds emerging from the struggling motor. Just like an engine, an ensemble can attain a smooth groove even if "uneven" in terms of pulse. While the percussionists are often asked to provide this groove under the melodic lines, they ultimately break out with a feature that essentially places a percussion ensemble within the context of a concert band piece. Bailando Apambichao - Jesús Orielso

Commissioned by the Banda Sinfnica Infantil de Ch a, this work had its premiere in August 2015. It recalls the Dominican merengue in its "apambichao" variant, which is characterized by a more rhythmic nature and is well suited for beginner bands.Having a 2,5 degree of difficulty, it is a musical piece that livens up the spirits with its sound and joy.

Bailey Switch March - Earl J. Fox Jr.

Bailey Switch March is dedicated to the beginner band in Picayune, Mississippi. The title comes from the citys original name, as it was a switching location for trains leaving New Orleans heading north. While it was written to retain a stately quality almost like a processional, it can also be played successfully at a faster tempo for an exhilarating and impressive performance.
