A Child's Embrace was written to commemorate the birth of the composer's first child, Katherine Anne Young, who was born on January 18, 2000. It has been scored in such a way as to permit performances by bands with less than complete instrumentation. (The oboe and bassoon parts may be omitted if players are not available, and the vibraphone part may be substituted by bells with rubber mallets.) It was commissioned by the Traverse City East Junior High School Band.

A Child's Lullaby - Robert Sheldon

This piece is dedicated to Olivia Caldwella beautiful and charming little girl who was taken by cancer at the age of 20 months. Her grandparents commissioned this piece in her memory to recognize her sweetness, strength, and courage. (3:45)

A Childrens Noel combines portions of three familiar childrens songs about stars: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star; The First Noel and We Three Kings. As more and more versions of these well-known classics flood the market every year, it becomes harder to see each tune in a new light. This setting takes the popular Ukrainian Bell Carol and uses it to create a gentle presentation in the style of a lyric lullaby that truly reflects the peaceful and most appealing sounds of the season.
