This composition for concert band was commissioned by Orchesterverein Wadgassen e. V. (Saarland/Germany) and its conductor Holger Jakobs. Thomas Doss has depicted the legend of the knight Maldix vom Litermont, a fierce hunter and an excessive drinker who, despite the warnings of his mother, was killed during a driven hunt in the woods, in a magnificent way. With the portrayal of various characters, the work offers a lot of variation.

The White Rose was commissioned by the White Rose Concert Band from Harrogate, England. The band takes its name from the county symbol of Yorkshire, the white rose. This partly rhythmic, party lyrical piece opens with a flourish from the trumpets. Following a rhythmic melody in the clarinets there are solo passages for flute and trumpet leading to the finale which brings together elements of the whole piece.

£109.99The White Thrill - Franco Cesarini
The White Thrill is a composition written on behalf of the "Musikkapelle Sankt Anton am Arlberg", in Austria. The theme refers to the ski race "Der weisse Rausch", that takes place every year in Sankt Anton. The composition is in an overtureform, with a majestic introduction, a fast part, a slow part and a reprise of the fast part. One theme characterizes the entire composition, with its pleasantly syncopated and fascinating rhythms; symbolizing in music the sinuous gait of the trackand the rapid maneuvers of the skiers. In the introduction, the majestic aspect, symbolizes the charm of the summits covered with snow, the grandeur of the alpine landscape. In the slow part, one can imagine the quiet of winter nights lit by the moonand the stars. A beautiful and ingenious piece.

£248.99The White Tower - Otto M. Schwarz
The year is 1798 and thieves, robbers, and bandits prowl the countryside, wreaking havoc wherever they go and more often than not escaping without so much as a scratch. This was, however, not the case with a supposedly well-planned assault on the German town of Daaden, during which 20 long sought-after crooks from Germany, France, and Holland where captured. Otto M. Schwarz' exciting musical montage lets people experience the planning, assault, and attempted retreat first hand!
