The Titanic Saga - Piet Swerts

Following the spectacular movie Titanic, the story of the world famous ship stood in the spotlights once again. Piet Swerts was inspired by this catastrophic saga to compose this beautifully narrative piece, reflecting the masses of people in Southampton, playing children and the undulating sea. The piece gradually picks up impetuously culminating with the looming iceberg and the dramatic sinking of the Titanic.

The Torch of Liberty has been commissioned by the Band of the Royal Netherlands Military Police, on the occasion of their 200th anniversary. The music is based on a monument, a torch that is symbolically being passed on by the fallen ones to the new generation. This versatile composition features a beautiful hymn and unique military sound effects in a festive and heroic style.

The Tower - Alexandre Carlin

The Tower was commisioned by the concert band of Auneau (France), for their 190th anniversary. The composer was inspired by a medieval tower standing in the city and decided to transcribe in music the life in the middle ages, the gregorian chant of the monks, a village festival, the building of the tower, step by step, and then the evocation of the battle of Auneau, one of the famous religious battles of the middle ages in France. The work ends with the regained calm, and the monks singing their gregorian chant at the end of the day.
