Sinfonia #1 - Walter S. Hartley

A brief, accessible work by wind band standards, Sinfonia (1961) demonstrates some of the serial compositional techniques embraced by Walter Hartley at the midpoint of the 20th century. The piece is neoclassical in form and approach, yet still stretches the boundaries of tonality and melodic conventions - a common practice at the time of its creation. Performers will appreciate this newly engraved edition that was reconstructed from original manuscript sources.
