This lively, spirited composition has been carefully written to sound more difficult than it is. The first parts have all the flashy melodic phrases while the supportive and easier rhythmic figures are played by the other parts. The percussion section is showcased with several soli interludes, making this a very effective showcase piece and especially useful for ensembles with a wide range of abilities.

A beautiful ballad written for the composers daughter, Ragan, the songs is a reflection of her quiet and unassuming demeanor and the beauty and love of a fathers bond to his child. This moving and lyrical work begins with a gentle lullaby presented by the woodwinds which represents her at sleep. As the work progresses, it gradually builds until the full ensemble depicts Ragans dynamic personality and joy of life. It then unwinds as it began, as though you are watching your child gradually fall asleep in your arms. An effective, slower piece that will showcase musicianship and musicality through lush lines and beautiful phrases.

Rage - Randall D. Standridge

Rage was written to explore the musical representation of fury, anger, and destructive forces. It is also a piece of music that allows musicians to explore their own emotions and to experience the artistic side of performance, playing with emotion and not just technically playing a piece. An outstanding composition.

Ragnarok Main Title - Magnus Torkehagen Beite

This is the main theme from the movie "Gten Ragnarock" (2013) superbly composed by Norwegian composer Magnus Beite. The music is narrative with long, melodic lines combined with a rhythmic drive. This arrangement tries to capture the symphonic expression from the original orchestral score. There are several unison lines. Intonation, balance and phrasing are important to make these sounding as good as possible. Clear articulation in the rhythmic passages are also important. The piece is very evocative and may fit very well into any concert program.

Ragnark - Bert Appermont

In Nordic mythology, Ragnark is the downfall of the gods and of the world, which takes place as a kind of battle between giants and gods. Under the flaming sword of the god of fire, everything is laid waste - but only to make way for a newworld and a new order. Bert Appermont took inspiration from this old saga for a magical, majestic concert band work that can also optionally be performed with choir.

Ragtime Dance - Gerald Sebesky

Use this work in place of a concert march in your next performance. Centering around a ragtime theme, this lighter selection also provides opportunities for the band to stomp their feet. Very easy to put together and reinforce basic rhythmic concepts at this level.
