Upon completion of an activity, an event, or other meaningful experiences, there is a time for reflection for what has been accomplished and what is to follow. This lyrical piece features a memorable melody that is presented by all sections of the band. These reflective presentations lead into a slightly faster minor section indicating the anticipation of plans for the future. The final presentation of the melody indicates a positive feeling of accomplishment and features a moving countermelody by the woodwinds leading to a quiet, contemplative ending. Jovian Farewell - Michael Sweeney

Jovian Farewell is a carefully paced memorial work, with the title referring to the planet Jupiter and the music incorporating the famous chorale by Gustav Holst. The familiar melody is hinted at early, then developed through a series of layers and phases with building intensity. The full chorale emerges near the end, then tapers peacefully to a tender close. Jovintud - Ferrer Ferran

Ferrer Ferran is the conductor of Juventud Musical who, in 2005, celebrated their twentieth anniversary. Jovintud was composed to celebrate this anniversary and is a blend of the name ?Jovi? with the word juventud (youth). Tenor saxophone player Jos Vicente Berch , known as Jovi, is the chairman of the group. Jovintud is a youthful, cheerful and humorous composition that has its own unique charm. A wonderful vibrant work that is a great opportunity to feature your tenor saxophone player.

Joy Dance - Scott Watson

Joy Dance, by Scott Watson, musically conveys an unrestrained expression of happiness and exhilaration. Inspired by David's ecstatic dance of praise in 2 Samuel 6:14 ("And David danced before the Lord with all his might..."), the piece combines artifacts of popular and contemporary music, including bold syncopations, a driving 5/4 meter groove, and use of contemporary and gospel harmonies. A large percussion section (7 players, including two mallet parts and timpani) adds essential color and energy. Whether it's worship, thankfulness, celebration, or blissful abandon, this composition reflects the radiant rejoicing of those who revel in all life's goodness! (4:10)
