Jupiter Hymn from The Planets - Gustav Holst

Gustav Holst (1874-1934) was a British composer. His most famous work is the orchestra suite "The Planets". "Jupiter Hymn" is an excerpt from the fourth movement named "Jupiter". This Young Band arrangement is a good choice to showcase the horn-section of the band. The clarinet-parts in the beginning of the piece may be omitted if the band not require doublings of the brass parts.

Jurassic Shark - Joseph Compello

Following up on the success of the piece T-Rex, composer Joseph Compello depicts through music the Megalodon. This dramatic piece depicts the prehistoric shark with enormous teeth as it swims ominously and persistently in the dark ocean depths. Students are intrigued by dinosaurs and this piece is a way to inspire them using something they are interested in. They will want to play this piece every day!
