In Majestic Prelude the instrumental music is closely connected to the text and vocal music. The work is based on a well-known psalm melody. As the title suggest, it begins with a majestic introduction, in which several sections of the psalmare heard. Various instruments play around with fragments of the familiar tune. This composition is an excellent opening piece for a concert!

Majestic Waters, which portrays water in in all its diverse conditions in and around Zell am See, was inspired by mountains, water and the overall impression of the landscape. This composition was commissioned by and is dedicated to Brgermusik Zell am See, conducted by Horst Egger, on the occasion of their 140th anniversary. Majesty is a powerful and spectacular overture. Right from the start, the brass open the work brilliantly before making way for a majestic hymn mostly played by the woodwind. The end of the piece repeats the opening fanfare as a monumental finale in the style of an American symphonic march. This work was commissioned by the Bourbourg Wind Orchestra (France), conducted by Claude Deconinck, on the occasion of its 230th anniversary. This piece was premiered by the commissioning orchestra on 19 November 2022, just two months after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Naturally, this work is dedicated to her.

Major Scales and Arpeggios - Roger Kugler

The first in a series of selections devoted to improving specific areas of performance. All 12 major scales are presented in a clear, easy-to-read format thats adaptable to any rehearsal situation and can be practiced individually or in sequence, with the full band, sections, or individual players. The percussion parts include basic as well as advanced rudimental snare drum parts and melodic and auxiliary parts that can be rotated between players. Percussion can be rehearsed as a section as well as with the full band. Valuable as a daily warm-up exercise, as a reinforcement of performance keys, or as audition/grading material.
