Everybody likes to celebrate! And if we celebrate with others, it's a "Celebration!" Performed by Kool & The Gang, this song's popularity continues many years later. With the inspiring words and rhythmic, melodious music, this piece gives a celebration "fever!"

Celebration - Donald Coakley

A dynamic work by a dynamic Canadian composer. Full of rhythmic and melodic interest, this concert band original is a fantastic addition to the repertoire. The tuneful melody is passed throughout the ensemble and even low woodwinds and tubas have a short section of melody. Percussion parts animate the driving rhythms and elegant writing in the winds. Another great work by this talented composer, Celebration is a sure success on a concert or to win a competition.

provides ultimate flexibility for ensembles with incomplete instrumentation or odd combinations. These pieces are playable by as few as 5 woodwind, brass or string players with or without percussion. This creates the opportunity for a mixed quintet to perform these titles but also allows for performance for 10-15 players up to full a band/orchestra with parts doubling. Celebre Tarantelle - Louis Moreau Gottschalk / arr. Sebastian Anthony Birch

New Orleans-born composer and pianist Louis Moreau Gottschalk's (1829-1869) Grand Tarantelle for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 67, was published in Paris after the composer's sudden death in Brazil in 1869. While no score for this 'moto perpetuo' work was found, the instrumentation used for this arrangement is based on parts located for the original orchestration. The piano part is the original composer's edition, while the band arrangement takes full advantage of the many colors of the concert band. The arrangement is well within the technical limits of good concert bands, so little rehearsal time with the soloist will be required.

Celestial - Ryan Meeboer

The term celestial has many different meanings: relating to the sky, space, the heavens, or just something simply that is really good. All of these things can be used to describe what is brought out by the performance of this piece. This theme goes through a number of transformations throughout the piece and gives the performers the opportunity to work on many elements and styles of performing, from light dynamics and articulations, into something that is meant to be played with more energy and heaviness. Celestial Guardians - David Marlatt

According to ancient Chinese mythology, the universe was divided into four quadrants called the Four Celestial Palaces, each represented by a guardian animal: Dragon, Phoenix, Tiger and Tortoise. This four-movement work takes the listener on a journey to ancient China with contrasting moods and rhythmic interest. Many different instruments and sections are featured throughout the piece. A little world music for young band.

Celestial Legend - David Shaffer

Celestial Legend uses thematic material based on Follow the Drinking Gourd and The Church's One Foundation. The piece seeks to recognize Green County, Ohio for its role in the Underground Railroad Movement, when escaping slaves were taught to follow the North Star. A delicate opening moves into a frenzy of woodwind activity over powerful brass fanfares. After a brief lyrical section, the piece resumes its fire, erupting in celebration as it catapults toward its heroic ending!
