This melodious march is of Danish origin. Ricard Lindebro (1903-1972) was a musical police officer. He was a pioneer in teaching traffic safety to children and had two radio programs about children and traffic at the danish Radio. He was also a drummer an a pianist and wrote five marches, among which 'Amalienborg' and 'Dansk Politis Honnormarch'. His popular march 'Diciplin' (1928) got famous in several European countries. Gosling Mol made an arrangement for symphonic and fanfare band and so this splendid march got into the Molenaar Edition series 'Marstriomfen' (Famous Marches) as number 73.

The Dutch composer and conductor Ton Kotter (Aalten 1906 -1991) was trumpeter-violinist with the Royal Marine Band before being appointed conductor of the Nijmegen Police Band. He conducted a lot of amateur wind bands (a.o. in Helmond, Nijmegen, Tilburg, Hilvarenbeek, Glanerbrug, Enschede and Loon op Zand) and for these bands he wrote several fine marches. Among his best-known marches are 'Hunter March' (1976) and 'Ambiorix' (1976). 'All-In', probably his last march, was composed in 1981 for the 70th anniversary of the symphonic band 'Excelsior' at Eibergen, conducted by the composer.

£94.99The Memory of Our Native Place - Satoshi Yagisawa
Satoshi Yagisawa is well known for his dramatic symphonic band compositions. Even though he has written relatively few marches, they are also very popular: March Willing and Able is based on a chorale while March Bou Shu is based on a Japanese folk song. The Memory of Our Native Place is a rather unusual piece for Yagisawa, as it actually closely resembles a traditional march. The piece opens with a lively fanfare and is contrasted by the following theme. The trio features a chorale-like melody.

Carl Teike (1864-1922) is one of the greatest composers of march music, being especially remembered for his traditional marches Alte Kameraden (Old Companions) and Graf Zeppelin. Both marches are well known throughout the world and thanks to their beautiful and catchy melodies they are often still performed. The march Graf Zeppelin is a tribute to Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin, the famous German constructor of airships, who was a contemporary of Teike.
