Saphirana - Ralf Uhl

A young European of the 19th century is fascinated by the beauty of the sapphire, a jewel that can be found in India and Sri Lanka. Full of ambition to find the stone, he sets out on a journey to South Asia. At first he is greatly impressed by the magic of the country, but soon faces setbacks and a growing sense of disenchantment. Exhaustion and personal failure bring the adventurer to the brink of despair until finally a glimmer in the dust rewards him for his perseverance.
