A Yorkshire Fantasy was commissioned by the Association of Texas Small School Bands and premiered by the association's All-State Band in February, 1999. Inspired by the magnificent English countryside, the work is written in two contrasting sections. The stunning Andante section opens with a haunting woodwind chorale, which leads to a more lyrical theme in the brass. Expanded percussion is a prevalent feature in the sparkling Allegro. Syncopated rhythms and changing meters will keep your band and audience on the edge of their seats. A brief return to the beginning theme brings this outstanding work to a wonderful conclusion!

Festival Overture in F - Gus Guentzel
