Rondo Barocco - Otto M. Schwarz

The Baroque is a period of frills and ornaments, wether in architecture, painting or music. An easy melody passes through a variety of arrangements. From brass quintet and different tutti parts, all the sections are in action. Fortified by a drum set and an (optional) electric bass, the piece is given a modern touch and becomes more acceptable to the audience. A follow-up to "Rondo Romantica", this piece was composed in December 1997.

Intrada, Recitative and Rondo - Ed Huckeby

An outstanding work for soloist and band, this distinctive composition focuses on three unique performance styles. Based on quartal harmonies and melodic structures, Intrada is technically challenging, yet quite accessible to the more advanced high school or collegiate students. A rubato, quazi-improvised jazz style is required in the second movement (Recitative), with the Rondo written in a more traditional, classical style. The band accompaniment is very playable, allowing for the showcasing of your trumpet, saxophone or euphonium soloist. Don't miss this opportunity to WOW your audiences!

Rondo Grottesco (Tuba Solo) (Concert Band - Score and Parts)

When Bourgeois, Derek was a schoolboy he played tuba, and as a budding composer he decided he needed a grand vehicle to display his mastery of the instrument. He therefore set out to write a work and completed the opening tune. At that time, however he did not have the expertise to develop the material and after the tune the concerto came to an abrupt end. Many years later the composer was invited to write a piece for tuba and concert band and Rondo Grottesco is the result - the schoolboy composers original tune developed not into a grand concerto but a fine miniature.

Andante & Rondo Wind Band Set (Score & Parts)

Antonio Capuzzi (August 1, 1755 - March 28, 1818) was an Italian violinist and composer who studied violin with Nazari and composition with Bertoni. In 1805 he moved to Bergamo, where he was professor of violin at the Instituto Musicale and leader of the orchestra at Teatro Riccardi. He was highly regarded there both as a teacher and a performer. Although popular in his day, most of his music is now forgotten; his most commonly performed piece today is the Concerto for Double Bass. All of Capuzzi's known compositions were written during his Venetian years. It was in Venice that Capuzzi became close friends with Domenico Dragonetti, Beethoven's virtuoso bassist. It is speculated that Capuzzi wrote his Concerto for Double Bass for Dragonetti. Gerald Oswald has made a fine arrangement of the second (Andante) and third (Rondo) movements of the concerto to feature either euphonium or tuba with concert band. The solo part is also available in an edition with piano accompaniment. 09:05
