Designed to open a Christmas concert, A Christmas Herald starts with a fanfare that introduces a lyrical theme, which eventually turns out to be a descant to Hark, the Herald Angels Sing, which is subsequently introduced by trombones and euphoniums. The famous carol then gradually transforms back into the fanfare, which closes the work as it began.

A Christmas March - Philip Sparke

A Christmas March was written to provide the young band something up-beat with which to open or close a Christmas or holiday concert. The main theme of the march is original, but many short references to well-known Christmas tunesappear in obvious and not-so-obvious places. These include Adeste Fidelis, Deck the Halls, Good King Wenceslas and Jingle Bells. God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen forms the march's trio section. A perfect piece for any Christmasconcert. Dur: 2:00

Christmas night evokes a multitude of images within every one of us: memories of sharing delicious meals with our family, of magical encounters, of celebrations, carol singing and music. In this work, Marc Jeanbourquin revisits four great ChristmasEve classics. The first chorale, Adeste Fideles, majestically opens this piece before taking the audience on to the famous Joy to the World. Such an arrangement would not be complete without the equally well-known Jingle Bells ina jazz version, before We wish you a Merry Christmas as a fitting conclusion to the piece. With A Christmas Night, you will be able to express in music the traditional Christmastime wishes to your public.

A Christmas Overture - Nigel Hess

This vivacious and colourful Christmas Overture, originally commissioned as an orchestral work by John Rutter for his 2007 Christmas Festival, proved an instant success with audience and orchestra alike. Traditional carols, skilfully juxtaposed and interwoven, provide the thematic material. They are, in order of appearance, Ding Dong! Merrily On High; Deck The Halls, Il Est N Le Divin Enfant, Infant Holy, Infant Lowly, Personent Hodie, We Wish You A Merry Christmas and Angels, From The Realms Of Glory, which bring the overture to a majestic close. Fragments of other carols appear along the way to enrich the tecture of what is surely one of the most attractive pieces written for festive season.
