Chichester Overture - Arr. John O'Reilly

Commissioned by the Chichester Elementary School Band in Chichester, Pennsylvania, this majestic overture gives all sections of the band a chance to shine. The strong opening theme features intriguing syncopated rhythms that are echoed throughout the work.The cheerful second theme features clarinets first, then flutes and finally the brass section. A dramatic return to the first theme segues to a rousing conclusion. Another winner in the long list of exciting overtures by John O'Reilly! (Grade 1 1/2)
